Minimum Requirements
Minimum requirements/ conditions for registering of members:
- Applicant must not be unfit to possess a firearm in terms of the provisions of the Firearms Control Act (60 of 2000).
- Complete the membership application form.
- Submit a signed copy to the office.
- Any natural persons between 18 and 60 years of age may apply in the prescribed manner, accompanied by proof of payment of the registration and annual membership fees. Membership may be refused if disciplinary measures have been instituted by other accredited associations against the applicant whose applications for membership have been accepted by the Executive Council (done immediately upon receiving a person`s application for membership – membership is usually only questioned if disciplinary measures have been instituted by other accredited association against applicant).
- Membership is for 12 months from date of enrolment. A once off entry fee plus annual subscription is required at enrolment.
- Thereafter annual subscription is payable in the month of first enrolment.
- Senior Membership: Any natural persons from the age of 61 who has made an application in the prescribed manner, accompanied by proof of payment of the registration and annual membership fees. Membership may be refused if disciplinary measures have been instituted by other accredited associations against the applicant.
- Junior Membership: Any person who is under the age of 18 years who has made an application in the prescribed manner, accompanied by proof of payment of the registration and annual membership fees.
- Dedicated Membership: Applicant must be a fully paid-up member of the NRPA,must be a member in good standing (no disciplinary actions pending), and indicate written adherence to the Association`s Code of Conduct at enrolment for the dedicated course.
- Applicant must be 18 years of age.
- In the event of special merit, exemption may be granted if sufficient evidence of high level provincial, national or international participation can be furnished (usually only sport-shooting is considered here).
